When you get what you want in your struggle for yourself,
And the world makes you king for a day;
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what the man has to say.

For it isn't a man's father, mother or wife,
Whose judgement upon him must pass;
The fellow whose verdict counts most in his life,
Is the man staring back from the glass.

He's the fellow to please: never mind all the rest,
For he's with you clear to the end;
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test,
If the Man in the glass is your Friend.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass;
But your final reward will be heartache and tears 
If you've cheated the Man in the Glass.

 The people who get on in this world
 are the people who get up and look
 for the circumstances they want, and
 if thay can't find them, make them.

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will-
It's all in the state of the mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are-
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before,
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go,
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins,
